June Saturday Openings for Roots and Shoots Shop
Lambeth
gardeners - help is at hand! Roots and Shoots’ garden shop is having
some special Saturday openings in June to sell all kinds of gardening
sundries from seed trays, trowels, hessian sacks and secateurs to
raffia, organic compost and Carbon Gold’s much praised Gro Char. Unusual
gifts include individually designed beanbag frogs made by House of
Commons volunteers and Moa, the fantastic healing balm, great for
gardening scrapes and stings, as well as a facial cleanser.
There
will also be plant sales of the special and unusual plants which thrive
in Roots and Shoots’ Lambeth microclimate - some of the plants
showcased at Chelsea Flower Show on the Silver Medal winning
Architecture Sans Frontières exhibit were grown here. Expect to find
lots of things you wouldn’t pick up at a garden centre, all of which
have been tended by the young horticultural students at this award
winning educational and environmental charity.
The
shop was recently reopened by the charity’s patron, Kate Hoey.
Situated within the eco training centre, it is a practical part of the
retail students’ training and they are involved in merchandising,
display, sales and customer service.
