... Brown has relished returning to Quins after “a very special few weeks” with England, in which they played at Twickenham and had remarkable attendances in Exeter and Doncaster. The players could feel the attention their sport was getting, says Brown, who thinks the big test is keeping people interested over the coming weeks in order to inspire kids to take up the game. All of which is relevant because Brown, who grew up in Kennington before her mother bought a house in Kent, was not even aware of the sport until her late teens when “rugby boys would come down in the summer and try shot put” at her college.
