Kennington Talkies Presents Mutiny on the Bounty (1935)

Lt. Fletcher Christian (Clark Gable): “But the prisoner is dead, sir!”
Captain William Bligh (Charles Laughton): “Never mind, continue with the punishment!”
Mutiny on the Bounty, directed by Frank Lloyd, was one of the biggest hits of its time.
Although its historical accuracy has been questioned (inevitably, as it is based on a novel inspired by the facts, rather than on the facts themselves), film critics consider this adaptation to be the best
cinematic work inspired by the famous – or notorious – 18th century Royal Naval mutiny.
