Don't forget the next
talk from the Friends of the Durning Library, on Monday 21
July at the usual time of 6.45 for 7.15pm. Given that the
Imperial War Museum is only re-opening this weekend, this is a
really hot topic.
Transforming the Imperial War Museum
Two days
after the reopening of IWM London with a new atrium designed by
Foster + Partners, cafés, shops and exhibitions, historian James Taylor will join us to discuss
the new and permanent First World War Galleries. These have
taken over four years to produce and will display over 1,300
objects, including a recreated trench.
6.45 for 7.15pm at the
Durning Library
Light refreshments.
Everyone welcome. No admission charge, but a £2 donation towards
costs is invited.
