Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this
weekend, 29-30 July, and also the following week. Most of the network
will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of
the following affect you.

Annual Prudential RideLondon weekend of cycling
|
|
|
The
annual Prudential RideLondon weekend festival of cycling is taking
place this weekend. The routes will be closed to traffic. Road users are
advised to avoid the affected areas wherever possible. Buses will be on
diversion or stop short of their destinations. |
| • | On
Saturday, the event routes are in the City and Westminster. Some roads
will be closed from 06:00 until 18:00, although some in central London
will reopen later |
| • | On
Sunday, the event route is between east, central and southwest London
and Surrey. There will be extensive road and bridge closures throughout
the day; roads will be closed from 04:00 and will reopen in phases once
the event has passed and it is safe to do so |

Tube and Rail will be the best way to get around during the weekend. For

Special note: Waterloo station improvement work
From Saturday 5 to Monday 28 August, some Tube, rail and bus services in
southwest London will be much busier than usual due to Network Rail’s
improvement works at Waterloo station. For full details and to know your

Trains will not run between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge, due to points renewal work at Rayners Lane.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
There will be no service between South Harrow and Uxbridge, due to points renewal work at Rayners Lane.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
All weekend there will be no service between Gospel Oak and Barking,
while Network Rail carry out major works to enable new, longer trains to
run from 2018.
|
On Sunday, there will be no service between the following stations, due to Network Rail track work: |
| • | Wandsworth Road and Clapham Junction |
| • | Liverpool Street and Enfield Town/Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters)/Chingford, until 10:15 |
| • | Bethnal Green will not be served by trains to/from Chingford |
|
Next Monday to Thursday, there will be no service between Hackney Downs
and Enfield Town/Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters) after 22:30, due to
Network Rail track work.

|
|
|
|
On Sunday, trains will not run between Liverpool Street and Stratford.
This is while Network Rail carry out track and station improvements as
part of their Railway Upgrade Plan, as well as Crossrail construction
work.

Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will
try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of
their normal destination:
Baker Street - Until early 2019, work is taking place to convert
Baker Street and Gloucester Place to two-way traffic. During this time
there will be changes to the road layout on these roads, between Park
Road and Portman Square. For more details, including details of affected
bus routes, please visit tfl.gov.uk/baker-street-roadworks.
Additionally, there are lane restrictions on Baker Street southbound at
the junction of Marylebone Road until mid-November, for Thames Water
works.
South and central London - From midday until 18:00 on Tuesday,
there will be traffic holds and roads may be closed at short notice,
including Brixton Road, Kennington Park Road, Kennington Road,
Westminster Bridge Road, Westminster Bridge and Parliament Square. This
is due to a march.

| • | Gloucester Road Central, for a crane operation |
| • | Kings Gate House, for utility works |
