The Lambeth Local History Fair
Sat 4th Sept 10.00 am - 4:30 pm, in-person at St Mark's church, Kennington, 337 Kennington Park Rd, SE11 4PW
Lambeth’s Local History Fair has traditionally been the opening event of the Festival, and after an absence last year it now makes a welcome return ‘in the flesh’ in the vast and well-ventilated nave of St Mark’s church where dozens of local society stands, local history experts and bookstalls will be on hand. Food, drink and refreshments will be on sale at the Oval Farmer's Market outside the church. There is no need to book. Just drop in anytime to sample the programme of talks and local walks that will be running through the day, including:
A walk led by Marietta Crichton Stuart of the Friends of Kennington Park around Kennington Park, looking at the area's transformation from public nuisance to much loved park. Meet in St Mark's church yard. ... |
