Hollywood star Kevin Spacey has been rehearsing for his latest role at the Old Vic - on the terrace of his local pub.

Last week, Spacey was seen, cider in hand, reading his lines in the Grand Union at Kennington, with his dog Minnie at his side.

He was overheard by one customer to say: 'Minnie's becoming the official pub dog, she's been here so many times.'

Spacey, who opens in Inherit The Wind later this month, has become a popular figure among London's theatrical set since alighting here as the Old Vic's artistic director in 2004.
