ICP - Half a Sixpence

INNER CITY PLAYERS

Spring musical - this week, this week, this week!

This Year’s musical extravaganza will be ‘Half Sixpence’ based on the novel ‘Kipps’ by H G Wells. It takes place in 1900 in Folkestone. The story is about a fairly down trodden young man, Kipps (Edwin Malins) who inherits a fortune and ‘stepping up in society’ goes to his head so he ends up getting engaged to a woman who spends her time trying to ‘sort him out’ in speech and etiquette. However, at the beginning of the story Kipps had given half a sixpence to his childhood sweetheart, Ann, and needless to say she turns up and it all ends up happily ever after! Lots of strong characters and some well know music such as ‘Flash, Bang, Wallop’. ‘Money to Burn’ and ‘If the Rain’s Got to Fall’, turns it into a lively and enjoyable show.

MARCH 22 – 24 AT 7.30 AND MATINEE AT 3PM ON 24TH,
