POLICE have been told to limit the use of sirens late at night to avoid disturbing people’s sleep.
After a flood of complaints they have been warned to sound them only when absolutely necessary in the evening and early morning in Kennington, south London.
The area, two miles south of the Houses of Parliament, is home to many MPs including Justice Secretary Jack Straw and Shadow Business Secretary Kenneth Clarke.
Cathy Preece of community group The Kennington Association, said: “The police are far worse than the fire brigade or ambulance service and should remember this is a residential area.”http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/167047/Police-sirens-silenced
