... a meeting was held with Val Shawcross AM, Cllr Edbrooke and representatives from TfL Surface Transport and NLE to walk around the Kennington Green area and look at the traffic management systems in place. The following issues were raised:
· Safety at Kennington Cross junction - conflicts caused by blocked traffic already over the stop line conflicting with green phase for pedestrians
· Safety at Windmill Row junction - conflicts caused by blocked traffic already over the stop line conflicting with green phase for pedestrians
· Coordination of traffic management in the local and larger area
· Signage for closures and road works that have either been stolen, damaged or required
· Lack of enforcement (cyclists on pavement)
· Dirt and grease reported on local side roads.
· Loss of pedestrian crossing on Kennington Road by NLE site has raised safety concerns from local residents
· CCTV on Kennington Green
There is a further meeting on Wednesday 29 July 14:00 at Montford Place which residents are more then welcome to attend. An action sheet, produced during the 13 July walkabout, will be updated at this meeting and I will distribute this to you all.
Kind regards
