Green-fingers welcome
WITH SPRING in the air the
Kennington Gardens Society is on
the lookout for new members.
The society has announced its
programme of events and is hoping
to attract keen gardeners from the
area. The society began almost 80
years ago and now runs a number of
events and talks throughout the year.
The first event was a Spring
Garden Show and on 9 April there
will be a talk from horticulturist
Hilary Newman on The Dry
Garden, giving tips on which plants
thrive in dry conditions.
Monthly talks are free for members
and cost £2 for non-members
and take place at the Roots and
Shoots eco building in Walnut Tree
Walk. For details of membership
and other events call 020 7582 1428.
