£5 Tickets for friends of Kennington Association to see SHOOTING RATS,
the UK premiere of acclaimed Austrian author Peter Turrini’s defiant drama.
Written in 1967 and premièred at the Vienna Volkstheater in 1971, the play is a radical exposure of the consumer society
and its legacy of self-alienation and disillusionment with life. A young couple strip at night at a rat-infested refuse-pit,
into which they throw everything associated with their social identity before the play reaches its highly dramatic, shocking conclusion.
Oval House presents this production in their new ‘Elsewhere’ space at the former Lilian Baylis school in Lollard Street SE11,
an extraordinary cavernous non-theatre space with a unique sunken octagonal pit
which has been turned into a custom built rubbish dump, complete with exploding car.
Tickets are normally £12 but we have a limited number on offer for friends of Kennington Association
at just £5 each
To claim yours either phone Oval House Theatre’s box office on 020 7582 7680 (open from 3-8pm Tues-Sat)
or book online, using the code ‘FRIENDS’. Ticket offer is for all dates up to and including Saturday 17th October.
