I have tickets available for this Saturday and next Tuesday,
but people would have to email or phone the Box Office direct to claim the seats as I won’t be here,
(and mention Kennington Association)
Let me know!
All the best

Bend it like Beauty
Kick-ass satire from the bosom of Africa!
25 May - 12 June, Tues - Sat, 7.45pm
One of South Africa’s sharpest and most uncompromising satirists, Ben Voss, unleashes an alter-ego who represents the face of the new South Africa – the rich, black, opinionated and botox-ed Business Woman of the Year, Beauty Ramapelepele. Here she celebrates winning the largest fabric contract in South African History through expert insider dealing: the manufacture and supply of all costumes for the opening ceremony of the Fifa World Cup.
“With Beauty we accept Voss as a wondrously successful, tart-tongued, female, African entrepreneur!” The Independent
A cross between Lily Savage, Dame Edna Everage and Rory Bremner, Beauty brings her sharp mind, and even sharper tongue, to a post-election London. Beauty comes to the UK following side-splitting sell-out performances across South and Southern Africa, and rave reviews for her own morning radio show on Jacaranda FM.
“It’s so damn funny!” The Independent on Sunday |

The rise of the extraordinary character of Beauty Ramapelepele has been meteoric. She is best known for her stage show “Beauty and the BEE” as well as her scathing satirical revue on both Jacaranda FM and East Coast Radio, both stations with well over 1.5 million listeners nationwide. Her shows have had sell out successes in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Pretoria, Harare, Gaborone and elsewhere. She has shared the stage with Piter Dirk Uys’s Evita and is fast becoming a leading South African personality as Africa’s Dame Edna Everage.
The performer Ben Voss was nominated for a FNB vita award for best actor in 1999, 2000 and 2001.He won the FNB vita award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Sir Andrew in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night in 2001 and won the Best actor award for the title role in Macbeth in 2002. He also won the award for Best New SA Script in 2003. Ben has also won the Fool Award for best performance in a comedy as well as the Naledi Award (the countries most prestigious theatre award) for the same category; both for his part in Green Mamba. In 2006 he won the coveted Fleur de Cap Award and again scooped the Naledi award for best review for his performance in Black Mamba. Beauty has scooped the Mercury Theatre award |
