Their Majesties Lambeth Way (1940)

BFIfilms — May 14, 2010 — During the war, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother) would often make morale-boosting visits throughout the UK.
In this newsreel, shot in Lambeth, which was heavily bombed during 1940, the couple visit local air raid shelters and watch as packages are put together to be sent to soldiers (which included socks and the world's largest toothbrush). The visit certainly has the desired effect, with young and old clutching at railings eager for a glance at the royal guests. (Kelly Robinson)
