A 58-YEAR-OLD man had a lucky escape after being pulled from under a train at Oval Tube station yesterday (Thursday).

The man was taken to King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill, on Thursday morning with head injuries after being dragged off the tracks on the northbound Northern line platform.

A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said they were called out at 7.35am and sent out a fast response team and ambulance crew who treated the man at the scene.

The northbound service from Morden to Kennington was suspended at 7.38am causing chaos for commuters.

A spokesman for Transport for London said a train was left stranded in a tunnel south of the station and underground staff were unable to get passengers off it and on to the platform until 8.20am.

The Northern line started running again at 8.24am.
