Happy Bus Pass Outings – coming destinations

Please find attached destinations for coming Happy Bus Pass outings. Please will you pass them on to anyone who may enjoy them. Participants have to be be able to take responsibility for themselves but don't need to know anyone else when they first come as people mix well. We don't expect people to come each week - just when it suits them and no one has to book but they have to reach Waterloo Action Centre by the departure time (11am each Wednesday)
Thanks Jenny

Happy Bus Pass Outings – coming destinations

August 2009

19th North Bank of Thames including Inner Temple, Middle Temple, Victoria Gardens and Embankment

26th Greenwich Market (on Wednesdays it specialises in food and household items) and other attractions in Greenwich.

September - some of these are longish trips to take advantage of the remaining longer days of the summer

2nd St Albans cathedral, roman ruins, Weds market etc etc

(Bus or tube to Euston, train to Watford Junction, then bus – this journey can be done entirely using freedom pass). If anyone prefers to make their own way there we could meet at the cathedral entrance at 2pm. There is a free public guided tour of the cathedral at 2.30pm each day.

9th Walton-on Thames

16th The new Metropolitan Police Museum, West Brompton + other points of interest in the local area. The museum opened in June (by tube)

23rd Westerham, small Kent town in a beautiful setting (train to Bromley, bus to Westerham)

30th Walthamstow Market – claims to be the longest daily street market in Europe (by tube)

October 7th St Katherine’s Docks + other places in that area

NB If it is a rainy day when there is an outdoor destination we will go somewhere else eg to the Natural History Museum; London Museum

Future destinations will be planned according to suggestions.

Please note it is a friendly informal group of older people not a formal organization. People come at their own risk. New people welcome.

To attend an outing all you need to do is be at Waterloo Action Centre, 14 Baylis Rd, SE1 7AA by 11am on the Weds.

All places we go to are free so there should be no cost for outing, provided you bring your Freedom Pass.

We suggest you also bring sandwiches, which we find somewhere to have together.

If you cannot come on these outing but would like to be involved in the future leave your contact details with The Association of Waterloo Groups at WAC. Tel no 0207928 9662 e-mail a.w.g@btconnect.com
