A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a teenager found stabbed on Saturday.

The 18-year-old was arrested at his home in south London on suspicion of murder and is now in custody at a south London police station.

Police launched a murder investigation after finding the victim, believed to be 19 years old, in one of three cars stopped by officers after it was seen to run a red light in Baylis Road, Waterloo, south London.

The ambulance service was called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe they know his identity but are awaiting formal identification. His next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination held at Greenwich mortuary gave the cause of death as stabbing injuries.

Investigating officers believe the man was stabbed in a fight outside the Club Life nightclub in Goding Street, Kennington.

At around the same time he was discovered, a second man - also believed to be 19 years old - was found in Goding Street with stab wounds.

He was taken to a south London hospital and has since been discharged.
